Katie’s practice includes real estate acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, construction, real estate finance and workouts, as well as establishment of limited liability companies, limited partnerships, and corporations. She represents a wide range of clients, including real estate developers, commercial property owners, investors, lenders, tenants, construction companies, restaurants and entrepreneurs.

During her tenure at Starr Finley, Katie has handled a wide range of real estate and business matters, from complex transactions to small business ventures. Her experience ranges from facilitating the purchase of a note and foreclosure of a downtown San Francisco core, high rise office building to advising small professional corporations on business formation, leasing, and management issues. Katie has assisted buyers in the acquisition, finance, disposition and stabilization of millions of square feet of office, retail, industrial, and multi-family properties, either through direct or note acquisition. She acts as outside counsel for several banks, for loan originations as well as workouts and foreclosures.

Katie received her B.A. in Political Science, International Relations from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and her J.D. from the University of San Francisco, School of Law. She earned an LLM in Taxation from Golden Gate University. She also studied at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, and Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.

Admitted to the California State Bar in 1999, Katie started her career at Starr Finley LLP, becoming a firm partner in 2007. Katie is also licensed to practice law in Nevada. She is a member of the California State Bar Association, Real Estate Section; the Nevada Bar Association; the Bar Association of San Francisco; International Council on Shopping Centers; and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW).

A devoted film buff, Katie is a treasure trove of movie trivia and has predicted each year’s Oscar winners with a startling degree of accuracy. She also loves to travel and has a special fondness for European and South American destinations. Katie lives in the East Bay with her dog, Buffy.
